  1. Home to bed after lots of swimming in a heated pool at a home in the forest,

  2. @Wipeout The big balls look safer at the bottom this year (with big rim). At the same time, they seem bouncier, harder to cross.

  3. Last lacrosse game, then convertible drive to pool party with tiki bar near the Appalachian Trail in West Virginia.

  4. @theladywrites Quote about children reminded me of Dickens: “it is not a slight thing, when they, who are so fresh from God, love us.”

  5. Read about how to replace an alternator in my vehicle. Bought fresh gasoline for the small motors (outboard engine, trimmer, generator).

  6. @jacquilofthouse The library visit will be nice! Lemonade in the garden - sounds good.

  7. @liorahess Paperless system in place: top-fed scanning Epson Artisan 800 to Adobe Acrobat Pro, Evernote. eStatements requested. Some backlog

  8. @Mangowe Hopefully the waffles will have strengthened you for the VAT work! Wishing you quick success so you can get back to the weekend.

  9. @Mangowe It is amazing how the same batter that might become soft pancakes is transformed into a delight both crisp & chewy by waffle iron.

  10. Arrived at my destination: Saturday morning (coffee to pour, newspapers to read, hobbies to resume; fun, friendship, freedom).

  3. @kellycdb Kelly, I guarantee this: there’s nothing wrong with you! Also, keep your journal going strong. That’s how I made it through. Ken

  4. @ResourcefulMom 3-30 mg of caffeine in a cup of green tea. Regular tea: 30-60 mg. Coke: 34 mg. Coffee 100-200 mg.

  5. @kellycdb All really important things we are left on our own to figure out. Sad but good as we are free. All going through amazing journeys.

  6. @kellycdb It’s better to have a heart than not, the price is pain, but the reward is joy & emotions that make life both agonizing & amazing.

  7. @lifeontheedges Thanks :) - a series of challenges - things breaking (water, air, electricity) - but solving them 1 by 1 & feeling good.

  8. @kellycdb Protect your heart above all else. They don’t deserve you (forget them!). Later, friends as sensitive & deep as you will be there.

  20. Woke from nap, can’t believe that @zaneology’s party has resumed at break of day or never stopped! (zaneology live > http://ustre.am/30Ub)

  21. Son woke. I cashed in one of the ear- rub coupons he gave me for my birthday. Earlier remembered difficult parking at children’s hospital.

  22. Orange tabby joined my nap, purring loudly, cold nose nudging for rubs.

  23. Rain sound gave way to bird song. Feeling sleepy. Maybe early waking was false start. Remedying with couch nap, cozy under cotton quilt.

  24. @zaneology That made my week. You are a celebrity! Music & people great. Thanks! (zaneology live > http://ustre.am/30Ub)

  25. I blamed the coffee for a week until learning this morning I’d been using fat-free half & half. Fortunately we had the good stuff. All well.

  26. Woke to find @zaneology’s party streaming live on Ustream with integrated Twitter interface - fun! (zaneology live > http://ustre.am/30Ub)

  27. @zaneology My day just started in Maryland. Fun to start it with a glimpse of your party! Great job (zaneology live > http://ustre.am/30Ub)

Porcelain figure holding a golden vase

This beautiful figurine reminds me of why I studied the aesthetic movement during my Master’s program at the University of Virginia, that contemplating beautiful objects seem to improve one from the inside.

Carroll Creek Reflections

May 13th, 2009

Carroll Creek Reflections, originally uploaded by Yenra.

I loved seeing the wind rippled reflections of light on the creek in Frederick on this spring night. Every year I fall more deeply in love with my city. To me, it is like heaven must be: peaceful, beautiful, lovely.
