Pasta for Breakfast
March 29th, 2009
- @mixolydian I did want to get my amateur radio license. I hope we can talk more about this during the week. Ken
- @nicmcc Still in love with Frederick, rural surroundings, sense of history, community events. June will be a nice month to visit this area!
- Watching the very good Kings on NBC. Added time to Amazing Race because of 60 minutes overrun. Celebrity Apprentice also set to record.
- Per @balmeras moved quickly to view a sunset: http://kenmorrill.com/snst
- Listening to Tory Kay - Let the Leaves (kosmonova maxi mix) streaming vocal trance through iPhone Shoutcast app. Cool air pours from window.
- RT @nicmcc: Not enough basil to make pesto, but enough arugula to make arugula-walnut pesto. Walnut roasting smells awesome. ~Food words yum
- I don’t know how to explain this day. I did everything I wanted, nothing I planned. Not enough outside, but inside a series of cozy joys.
- Charged Icom IC-R20 handheld communication receiver (superb scanner). I forgot how big a radio monitoring hobby I had (including shortwave).
- Daughter practicing flute for an audition. Sun showing after storm. Still waking from deep nap. Making French toast for supper.
- @SashaKane 1st para of Lies That Bind http://tinyurl.com/liesbind mentions travel, Twitter, iPhone. 2: “disturbing direction” compels us in.
- @chiarraigrrl Sleep well! Everything will be solved tomorrow. Do not think about until then. Ken
- Surge of giving today at http://justgiving.com/twitc… to charity:water puts trip total over £5K (original goal £3K). #twitchhiker
- RT @twitchhiker: 11,000 followers, 1,000s of tweets, 100s of donations and over 40 tweeps with the goodwill to make it happen. (It’s over!)
- Was going to push myself with coffee. Instead accepted tuck-in for nap, from which waking.
- @brendalong I liked reading your question about how my breakfast was flipped today. Big smile to know you are paying attention! Ken
- Pushing myself to produce as I did in the good old days.
- Charging my iRiver H340 multi-codec jukebox. Forgot how good it is at recording audio.
- Watching complex parts come together in most recent Connor Chronicles. Separately learning that pasta induces sleepiness even in morning.
- Preparing pasta for breakfast: San Giorgio large shells (semolina & durum) & Classico spicy tomato & basil (puree, paste, diced, red bell).
- Current joy: Son & I are playing videogame from long ago: ATV Offroad Fury 2. Glad it plays on PS3. Reliving old shared memories together.
- @greenlasagna So satisfying to see how thick with dirt the rinse bucket gets, the efficient art of using just the necessary amount of water.
- Learned at Lean Manufacturing workshop: cleaning workspace & polishing tools leads to high productivity. Applies to both kinds of desktops.
- 2 March actions I don’t regret: 1) Day 8 with @twitchhiker: http://kenmorrill.com/thrt 2) charity:water http://justgiving.com/twitc…
- Mopped kitchen floor using method learned at 1 of my 1st jobs: A) lay down warm soapy soak, B) rinse/wring/lift dirt into warm water bucket.
- Three luxury purchases I have never regretted: 1) spa for backyard 2) convertible for country roads 3) 30″ cinema display for viewing photos
- Best way to view photos on Mac OS X 10.5.6: finder window on left, open quick-look window, as big as can be. Start quick look with spacebar.
- @liorahess Disciplines like #earthhour I initially resist, but once begun, soon realize that more is gained than given up (ascetic luxury).
- Bird song & cool morning air. Hot coffee. Mass last night, long free day ahead. Family sleeping deeply. Appreciating health, peace, freedom.

- #earthhour was powerful because it brought people together in thought and conversation. It proved that joint action is possible.
