Big dream of robotic encyclopedia in library with many touchscreens - information about Frederick, photo perusal, one thing leading to another, depth of information fantastic. Also, me telling people about big upcoming events, the date: 1890, me telling people about the world wars to come, the Russian revolution, the Chinese revolution. Everything you said about historical markers - the information tied to location - I can do with Wikicover and other sites, have the photos, the articles, and geotag them - so they are found in Google Earth project. Must still simplify navigation in other wikis - to make them as clean as Wikicover.
“A poem is a directive referring to divine orders” - quote from the blackboard in Freshman English class. (was it Paul Valery or Charles Baudelaire?)
Dreams, Journal
I discovered the joy of seeing my words printed in Palatino, so I jumped on changing WikiCover’s base font, as well as the typeface of my journal. Deep in the dreaming distance, something about the lettering was excellent - like of old, but still readable and modern. Each word kerns better, grouped by itself, with great flowing serifs. That is what I see in it. So much better than sans-serif like Arial or even Verdana, which has more character than Arial. And for me, more readable than thick Georgia, which I admire, but is not as good for me in my environment. I’ve tried to make the fall-back work: Palatino,Georgia,Serif - and it works on the machines I tested. But I have to live with my site the most, and I like it to read well. Who knows, maybe others will follow with the technologies I have chosen, and see the lettering as excellent as I do now.
I feel like I am laying down words that form knowledge with Palatino. To see the top curve of the capital P not quite touch the pillar, to see the lower case t curve up at the bottom, these are joys.

I’m participating in the search for Steve Fossett using Google Earth. Google has provided updated maps. Amazon’s Mechanical Turk records if you see anything at the area to which they send you. They instruct you on what to look for and they have many people check the same areas, especially when they are flagged as possibilities. You log on to Mechanical Turk with your Amazon account. They provide a KML file which tells Google Earth to get the latest maps.
