Natural Abundance
October 1st, 1984
I want to, like the pine tree near the sea, have a natural abundance, and plume forth, and be splendid.
I want to be nimble, agile, supple, lithe.
When I am old, I want to be fragrant like yellowing leaves, and dim with the soft stillness and satisfaction of autumn.
I would like to distill the essential oil out of every experience and like hazel-nuts in autumn, at last be sweet and sound.
